We’re Experienced in Insurance

Hospital Plan Insurance Services was established over 35 years ago and during all that time we've been offering great value health insurance plans backed by a friendly and efficient service when our customers need it most. Over 100,000 people have one of our plans and benefit from the reassurance that they will get financial help should the worst happen.

We provide a range of health insurance plans that can ease the financial burden during difficult times. These include plans which pay benefits in the event of disability and fractures, accidental death, hospitalisation, and cancer diagnosis. These policies are underwritten by AIG Europe Limited.

Hospital Plan Insurance Services have your health needs covered and below you will find details of all the main products we offer.

Accident Insurance Products

Thousands of accidents happen every year which leave people needing alterations to their home or car, as well as help cleaning, shopping, gardening or getting around. Our Disabling Injuries Protection Plan is designed to provide financial assistance to help you to overcome many financial and practical issues if you suffer an accidental disabling injury or fracture. There are seven levels of cover, providing a range of payment and premium options. The policy has been designed to provide a payout in the event of a permanent disabling injury, as well as for many every day fractures caused by a covered accident. Extra cover for fractures or accidental death can also be added to this plan.

There is no age limit on our accident policies, but the benefits will be reduced by one third if you are over 75 and by one half for under eighteens. The benefits are increased in certain circumstances, for example the payout is doubled if you are injured while travelling as a fare-paying passenger. There are some exclusions, including that benefits will not be paid for a self inflicted injury, or for injuries caused whilst performing an illegal act or as a result of a medical condition.

Cover is worldwide, but you must be a UK resident.

No one likes to think about it but fatal accidents do happen. When someone dies suddenly, apart from the emotional distress caused, their loved ones can be left with unexpected bills for funeral arrangements, and perhaps the mortgage or rent to pay. Our Accidental Death Plan will pay out a lump sum that could help to ease the financial strain on your loved ones at such a difficult time. Our Premier Accidental Death Policy will pay £55,000 for a death resulting from a covered accident. There is also a continuity benefit which will increase the payout.

Hospital and Illness Cover

It’s good news that survival rates are improving steadily for many cancers^ but cancer doesn’t just affect people physically. Once the initial shock of diagnosis is over, cancer sufferers often find themselves worrying how to pay the bills if they have to take a period off work.

Our Cancer Care Plan will pay out £10,000 upon diagnosis of a covered cancer, to help ease financial worries in the short term and help you concentrate on getting better. We have also introduced a £1,000 benefit payable on first diagnosis of Carcinoma in situ anywhere in the body (other than the breast) or a non malignant melanoma.

In addition, there is a benefit of £50 for each day (up to £5,000) you are hospitalised for treatment of a diagnosed covered cancer.

You will be covered for the full benefit up to the age of 70, when the policy will be cancelled. The policy will not cover you for pre-existing illness and there is a qualifying period at the start of the period when only the hospitalisation cover will be paid.

Going into hospital can be a stressful and worrying experience – it can also lead to unexpected costs. Hospital parking costs, taxis, kennel or cattery fees, someone to do the shopping or cleaning while you are incapacitated – these costs can all add up!

Our Hospital Cash Plans pay benefits for each day spent as an in patient in hospital which can help you in the short term for everyday household costs or even a relaxing break to help you recover. There is a minimum payment, so even if you are only in hospital for 24 hours you will receive a worthwhile payout. The policy also provides increased benefits in certain circumstances, for example as a result of a road traffic accident. Benefits cannot be claimed for long term care in convalescence homes or some specialised rehabilitation units. The policy does not cover any illness you have prior to the original purchase and there is a waiting period for some of the elements of cover.
